The Pursuant Group, a full-service fundraising and marketing communications consulting firm, announced their acquisition of KMA Direct Communications on January 11, 2011.
KMA Direct Communications, located in Dallas, TX, was founded in 1984 to provide direct response marketing and fundraising to organizations doing important, life-changing work. Today, KMA serves a variety of organizations, including faith-based, nonprofit, and politically conservative companies. Their fully integrated approach includes online and offline direct response, radio production, syndication and consulting services, full data analytics and complete Internet marketing services.
Tom McCabe will continue to lead KMA as President, which becomes part of The Pursuant Group effective immediately. He will be actively involved in the delivery of client services.
“Combining efforts with KMA complements what we do at Pursuant so well,” said Matt Frazier, CEO of The Pursuant Group. “It is the perfect marriage of the science of KMA’s proven strategic planning, cutting edge analytics and program execution with the art of Pursuant’s groundbreaking creative storytelling, mid to major donor consulting and capital campaign counsel. We are so excited to add KMA’s direct response fundraising expertise to our comprehensive service offerings.”
KMA and Pursuant share a long history of collaboration, even at one time sharing workspaces when Pursuant first launched in 2001. Frazier credits McCabe as a mentor who helped him shape the foundation of what Pursuant sought to become.
“The leadership of Pursuant has been truly inspired by Tom’s theology of relational fundraising,” said Frazier. “His approach to fundraising has heavily influenced me and several of my colleagues over the years; I value him as a friend, mentor and now a business partner.”
McCabe feels just as strongly about the new relationship with Pursuant, seeing it as a great opportunity for KMA’s client base to grow deeper donor relationships and raise more financial support, with greater impact on their vision and mission.
“This partnership will only improve our services with greater bench strength and more strategic ideas to apply to client programs,” said McCabe. “I believe that our two companies reflect a common vision and common values. I have a strong appreciation for the ‘heart’ connection that both companies have, as well as the passion we share to help the nonprofit sector grow dramatically. I am so grateful for this new opportunity.”
